es the Z1 is a great bike. We are offering that as well as a more standard model. The Z1 is the high spec top of the line bike with all the go fast items like the special fork, hidden brakes in the forks and intergrated under the bottom bracket (my new little carbon 'mini-me-V's), and special handle bar system. Basic frame price is a very reasonable NZ$3500 complete with standard carbon forks and 8mm thick blade seatpost.
Quite a list of options depending on how aero you would like to go. This makes the standard basic frame into the Z1. Haven't finalized the prices for all these options as yet, as we are still going through the development process. I can get back to you on this, as well as pictures of the mini-me-V's and fork.
We have three sizes : Small which will accomodate 67.5 - 74cm seat heights( b.b. to top of seat) and a front centre of 59cm (ft axle to b.b.) ; Medium 71-77.5 seat height and 61.5 cm front centre ; Large 73-82cm seat height and 63.5 front centre.
The frame weight we have got down to 1450g for the small (about a 54cm size) which is pretty good for an aero frame of this type (i.e. missing the trianglating frame tubes), and the things like the seatpost and the mimi-me-V brakes are extremely light also. We are at present exploring the use of carbon nano tube CNT reinforced resins to make it even lighter and much stronger, and we use intermediate modulus carbon fiber. Soon maybe a 100% high modulus carbon fiber option also. So for a special race bike we can really bring the weight down. It will be one of, if not the fastest bike around with superior aerodynamics and super-light weight.
Plans also afoot to offer for sale the special deep aero fork and the superlight carbon minime-v's as seperate items, that can be fitted to 'ordinary' bikes to upgrade them to be faster, more aero and lighter.
We have a couple of these bikes out there now in usa and austrailia, and one of the american guys went quite well on one at ironman germany this year.
Hope this answers your questions, and wets your appetite even more,
Graeme Pearson
