Craig Alexander is at the front of the race, putting pressure on the rest of the men's field. He seems determined to erase any thoughts that he's "only" a runner!
He's got the rest of the group strung out, hanging on.
A minute down are McCormack, Vanhoenacker, Bockel and Alonso-McKernan.

The word in the women's race is that Caroline Steffen is moving well and appears to be on track to move to the front of the race. She's 40 seconds behind the group of three out in front that includes Stevens, Marty Beth Ellis and Leanda Cave.

Andreas Raelert is on fire - he's now 2:45 behind the leaders. We're not sure what happened to the German, but he's showing some game now as he pushes towards the front where he will hopefully join his brother.
Ahead of them Luke McKenzie has now moved to the front of the race.
